Overview

Solar Calculator is a free web-based tool that helps homeowners estimate how big a solar system they need and how much they could save on electricity bills. It replaces guesswork with clear numbers, so users can start their solar research with confidence.

The Problem

Most people begin their solar journey by requesting installer quotes, and end up with very different system sizes and prices. Without an independent estimate, it is hard to know which proposal is fair, oversized, or too small.

The Solution

A simple calculator that turns two basic inputs, location and average electricity usage, into a practical solar estimate in minutes. No signup, no phone number, no sales calls.

Key Features

Recommended system size (kW)
Estimated number of solar panels
Projected monthly and yearly savings
Payback outlook to support budget planning
Instant results with the option to test different scenarios
Clean, mobile-friendly interface
100% free to use

Target Users

First-time solar researchers
Homeowners comparing installer quotes
Families aiming to lower monthly power bills
Anyone planning a future solar investment

Outcome

Users get a reliable baseline before talking to installers, which helps them spot padded proposals, plan a realistic budget, and make better-informed decisions.

Note

Results are estimates. Roof shading, tilt, orientation, and local regulations can change actual performance, so a professional site assessment is recommended before installation.
