Most SaaS founders already know when a customer cancels. Stripe or Lemon Squeezy shows the subscription ended, the dashboard updates, and the monthly recurring revenue drops. But that still does not explain the real reason the customer left.
The problem is that every churn reason requires a different action. If the customer left because of pricing, the founder may need to improve packaging or launch a lighter plan. If the customer left because of a missing feature, the right follow-up only makes sense after that feature ships. If the customer left because onboarding was confusing, the founder needs to fix the onboarding flow before trying to win them back. If the issue was a failed payment, it should not be treated like normal churn at all.
ChurnNote helps close this loop.
It connects to Stripe or Lemon Squeezy and detects cancellations and failed payments automatically. After a customer cancels, ChurnNote sends a short plain-text exit email that feels like a founder note instead of a survey or form. The goal is to make it easy for the customer to reply honestly in one or two sentences.
When the customer replies, ChurnNote uses AI to understand and group the churn reason. Replies can be categorized into patterns like pricing, missing feature, bad experience, not using it, switched tool, timing, or failed payment. This helps founders see the real reasons behind churn instead of guessing from dashboards alone.
ChurnNote also helps founders act on those reasons. If a group of customers left because a feature was missing, the founder can record when that feature is shipped and queue a targeted win-back follow-up. If customers left because pricing was too high, the founder can follow up when a lighter plan or better offer is available. If a payment failed, ChurnNote can run a recovery sequence with follow-up emails and payment links.
