Todowing is an unofficial Chrome extension for the Todoist web app. It shows sub-tasks as a nested tree inside Today, Upcoming, Boards, Filters, and Labels, the views where Todoist lists every task flat. Nesting goes up to four levels deep. Each sub-task row keeps its own due date, priority, and labels, and you can complete or reopen sub-tasks without leaving the list.
It is for Todoist users on Chrome who plan their day from Today or a filter and lose track of which task belongs to which parent. It works with any Todoist plan, including the free one. It does not run inside the Todoist desktop app, so install Todoist as a Chrome app window if you want it in its own window.
The free version includes all the nesting features, limited to 5 sub-task rows per top-level task. It also includes seven color palettes that change row spacing, section style, and corner rounding, plus a text size slider from 85% to 200%. No account is required.
The lifetime unlock costs $19.99 once, with no subscription, and includes all future upgrades. It removes the row limit and adds: adding, renaming, and reordering sub-tasks from the list, a hide-done toggle, filing one task under a parent in another project, focus sessions with a countdown timer that runs across open tabs, time estimates with totals, a notes pad above the Today list with light markdown and autosave, a picker with 50 Google Fonts, and read-only Apple Calendar events in Today from up to five published calendars. Refunds are available within 14 days, no questions asked.
Your Todoist API token stays in your browser and goes only to the official Todoist API. Tasks never pass through Todowing's servers, and the extension has no analytics or tracking.
Todowing is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or made by Doist. Red Pixel makes it.
