ShelfLife is an AR/VR tool designed to help individuals and small teams manage food waste effectively. It addresses the common issue of forgetting food expiry dates, which leads to approximately $1,500 worth of food being wasted each year. For just $84, users can scan their grocery receipts to receive AI-generated expiry dates and suggestions on how to use their ingredients before they spoil.
What ShelfLife does
ShelfLife allows users to scan grocery receipts and automatically generates expiry dates for each item. The app notifies users before food items expire and suggests recipes to use up ingredients. It works offline, requires no sign-up to start using, and enables users to export their data at any time. The entire process takes about eight seconds, making it a quick and efficient solution for tracking food inventory.
Who ShelfLife is for
ShelfLife is ideal for busy individuals, families, and small teams who want to reduce food waste and save money on groceries. It is particularly beneficial for those who often forget about items in their pantry or fridge. However, users who prefer manual tracking methods or those who do not frequently shop for groceries may not find it as useful.
Pricing & access
The pricing model for ShelfLife is not specified. However, it is mentioned that users can access the app for free or at a low cost, which is less than the price of a coffee per month. This makes it an affordable option for anyone looking to minimize food waste.
