## About PaperFig

PaperFig is an AI scientific figure maker built for researchers, academics, and scientists who need clear, publication-focused figures for papers, presentations, and lab communication.

Getting started is simple: describe your idea in plain language, or upload a sketch, a reference image, or a PDF. PaperFig turns your input into a polished scientific figure draft that you can review, refine, and export. It is designed for the figure types researchers need most: mechanism diagrams, workflow figures, graphical abstracts, and research visuals for manuscripts, conferences, teaching materials, and lab documentation.

Label editing is where PaperFig saves the most time. Built-in OCR extracts text from an existing figure, so you can detect and correct labels without rebuilding the whole image from scratch. After correction, detected and corrected labels can remain editable as PowerPoint text boxes, while the artwork and background stay raster-based - a workflow familiar to anyone preparing journal submissions.

Exports cover common submission needs: high-resolution PNG, 4K PNG options for presentations and posters, and PDF export. PaperFig works in the browser, so there is nothing to install, and your figures stay organized in your workspace.

Pricing is freemium. New accounts start with 150 free credits plus 10 daily credits - no credit card required. The Scholar plan at 16 dollars per month (120 dollars per year) includes about 40 figures per month for active manuscript work. Pro Scholar at 27 dollars per month adds all generation and label-fix modes for grant deadlines. Lab Pro at 72 dollars per month covers labs and high-output groups with about 290 figures per month. One-off credit packs from 45 to 270 dollars are available for peak submission seasons.

PaperFig fits graduate students writing their first manuscript, researchers polishing graphical abstracts, and labs that need consistent scientific visuals for papers and talks.
